CADSART celebrate 2000th member
LUCKY Lucy Turner celebrated becoming Chester and District Recreational Trust’s 2000th member by pulling on her running shoes and going on a two-mile run.
The 19-year-old university student from Blacon received a year’s free membership to the Northgate Arena to mark the membership milestone.
“I was delighted when CADSART called me to say I was the 2000th member. The free membership will be a great help,” said Lucy, who is planning to join the police force when she completes her criminology degree.
“I used to do a lot of sport at school and college but since university haven’t been doing as much.
“Now I’ve decided to get fit again and with the membership I haven’t got any excuses,” added Lucy who also works part-time as a waitress in Chester.
Lucy, whose mum and dad, Gillian and Kevin, also enjoy keeping fit, said her next task was to encourage older sister Laura to join her in the gym.
CADSART Operations Manager Clive Donovan also presented Lucy with a bouquet when she called into the Arena to receive her prize.
“It’s our way of marking the continued success of CADSART’s facilities. All the centres offer superb facilities at value for money prices and as a result continue to grow in popularity,” said Clive.
“We are delighted that more and more people are taking their health and fitness more seriously, as a direct result of the MoreActive4Llifes campaign being run by the Fitness Industry Association.
CADSART centres are dedicated to helping people of all ages achieve their fitness targets and providing fun and convenient ways to take part in at least 30 minutes of exercise five times a week,” he added.
Founded in 1996, CADSART is a non-profit making charitable company whose main objective is to provide sports and recreation facilities to the Chester and District community.
