Swimming is an exercise that is open to everyone and as a non-weight bearing activity; it is one of the better ways to get fit.  At EPIC Leisure Centre we ensure that there is something to satisfy everyone’s needs, offering swimming lessons, swimming lanes, adult only, ladies only through to more relaxed family fun swim sessions

Swimming Lessons

We run a wide range of swimming courses for all ages and abilities throughout the year.  All lessons follow the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming, which provides an excellent standard of instruction within a structured framework of stages 1 – 7.  Courses allow adults and children to reach their full potential from beginners to competition level swimming.

Sessions Guidelines

Courses consist of half-hour lessons, depending on the level; there are between 8 and 14 pupils in a class.  Personalised one-to-one lessons are also available giving individual coaching to pupils; courses consist of half hour lessons and can be booked for full or half courses.

The Tots Swimming Lessons are an introduction to water awareness for younger children.  Parents should be aware that a child cannot progress to a stage 1 class until they are able to stand up in the teaching pool, which has a depth of 3ft, so that head and shoulders are clearly above the water.

Parents are requested to stay in the building during the child’s lesson.  Parents of children on Tots swimming courses should remain in the pool foyer.  Only staff and authorised personnel are allowed on to the poolside for reasons of hygiene and safety.

Customers using the swimming pool must wear appropriate swimming attire and enter the pool surround via the changing rooms, with the exception of Tots lessons, which enter the pool via the pool foyer door.

If a lesson is cancelled as a result of a technical breakdown, or if the pool has to be closed due to an incident which may have contaminated the water, then a complimentary voucher for a free swim will be issued next lesson.

Refunds for courses may be given under the following circumstances:
(i) The person cannot attend anymore due to a medical condition; a letter from the doctor or hospital must support this.  The refund will only be given from the date of notification, not when they stopped attending.

(ii) If a customer requests a refund because they have decided they do not want to attend anymore, this can only be given if we re-sell the place; the refund will be given for the remaining lessons from the date of the re-sell.

Fun for all the family.  One adult can accompany two children under the age of 5 years to this session.

Swimming Pool Private Hire
The pool is available at certain times for hire for galas, training sessions etc.  For further details ask to speak to the Duty Manager.

Swimming Pool Birthday Parties
The pool can be hired exclusively for your own private fun party on Saturdays from 3.15pm to 4.15pm.  Under 8’s need to be supervised as per pool guidelines.

Holiday Activities
Our programme changes during the school holidays and includes many activities, crash courses, extra family fun and casual swimming sessions.  For a copy of our holiday brochure, just give us a call.

Junior Leisure Pass For 7 –
15 years for only £15 per month
Enjoy unlimited swimming (during public opening hours), plus a jam packed timetable of activities; plus unlimited cinema showing during school holidays.

Adult Swimming Only Scheme –
From only £14 per month
Unlimited use of swimming pools (during public opening) at both EPIC Leisure Centre and Neston Recreation Centre.

No contract.  No joining fees.  Stop making payments whenever you want.

The Swimming Only Scheme offers a non-committed payment option for customers.  The scheme is on a one month rolling membership payable by direct debit.

A gentle workout with the added support and resistance of water to tone, strengthen and burn fat.  This is a great class for all abilities, pre/post natal and anyone with joint problems or injuries.

Aquajog
Monday 6.05pm  - 6.50pm
Provides a complete low impact cardiovascular workout building endurance and burning fat without the bone jarring effects of jogging on dry land.  Participants must be confident in deep water.

Aquanatal
Friday 10.00am – 11.00am
Gentle exercise to music in the pool for mums to be with your local midwives (from 12th week of pregnancy).
